First, get rid of the overpaid chumps that have no heart and desire to win (Gomez, Drury, Redden, etc.), then acquire toughness and more agitators (such as 2009 UFA's Donald Brashear, Billy Tibbetts, Mike Peca, & Erik Cole just to name a few), then last but not least, get some real physical defensive defensemen who can fight at the drop of a love and can take the heads off closet homosexuals like Ovechkin, Semin, & Crosby (Such as Todd Simpson & Matt Carkner). Also, Henrik Lundqvist needs the Eddie Shore goaltending training method before the 2009-10 season starts!

Do you think maybe Naslund can talk some sense into Redden? Who in their right mind would take him off our hands? You guys thinking buyout?

Naslund talk sense?!?!? He's another one I'd love to see get the hell out of NYC! Yeah, you're right, who would take Redden off our hands? A buyout would be a good option, but I think it would still fuck up our cap. I say demote him to the WolfPack and have him play out the rest of his contract in Hartford.

And to think, Redden was supposed to be a goal scorer on the PP.

Joey. Didn't you hear. Naslund is retiring. Walking away. That's what I mean by talking sense. Maybe he can convince Redden to do the same. Come on Joey, this is old news. http://adjix.com/dg6v

LMAO, come on rangerfan1, cut me some slack. Now if Donald Brashear is retiring, that's one thing, but Naslund? Well, it's about time Naslund retires. He's been playing like he was retired for 10 years. Yes, that would be a blessing if Redden does the same.

I think its wrong to throw Drury in with Gomez, Redden and the rest of those..those...well you know. During the final games of the playoffs I think he honestly wanted to lead and, i dont know, play like a captain. I at least am prepared to believe in him for one more year with the "C" on his chest. Because unfortunetly we wont be able to unload ALL of our underachieving and overpaid players in one offseason, so we have to believe in some of them.

Hey Ian,
I respect your opinion on Drury, and yes, I do have the courage to admit that he did play like he cared in the playoffs, but personally, I think Drury is way to soft and passive to be a Captain for any team, never mind the Rangers. We Rangers fans got spoiled when Barry Beck (being the one and only goon who never lost a fight, fought for his teammates, and defended his team), Kelly Kisio (pound-for-pound was one of the toughest in the league), and Mark Messier (the perfect all-around captain who lead the Rangers to winning the Stanley Cup in 1994) were the Captains of the Rangers, and now, we want more from our Captains, actually, a lot more! No disrespect to you Ian, but I personally think that Drury can't deliver. Mike Peca would be the perfect captain for the Rangers, not Drury.

If Drury is a captain, how come he's never the guy talking with the ref's when there's a bad call? He was a great player with the Sabres but has been an also-ran with the Rangers. Especially considering his bloated salary. He should be a point a game guy for that kinda money... I like the Gomez move and Redden is a ball and chain at this point. We'll be hating him for years... I like Brashear as a Ranger. About time we'll be on the winning side of a few fights. Now if we could just get a player worth protecting. I want Ulf back.....

Hey C Robbi,
WOW, I'm happy to see that somebody somewhat agrees with me. I'm also happy to see Gomez go. Now we have to get rid of Drury and Redden! I think acquiring Mike Komiserek and Matt Carkner for our D would be a plus as well. But I'm extremely happy to see Brashear a Ranger!
